    This is a Python course for beginners, and we designed it for people with no prior Python experience. It is even suitable if you have no coding experience at all. You will cover the basics of Python, helping you understand common, everyday functions and applications, including how to use Python as a calculator, understanding variables and types, and building Python lists. The first half of this course prepares you to use Python interactively and teaches you how to store, access, and manipulate data using one of the most popular programming languages in the world.

  • Obtaining a Food Handler Certificate in Ontario is essential for most food industry workers, ensuring they have the necessary knowledge to maintain food safety standards. If you plan to work as a Food Handler in the province, you must meet Ontario’s food safety certification requirements.

    Regulatory and Legal Framework

    Food safety laws in Canada and Ontario, including the Ontario Food Premises Regulation and food handlers’ roles and responsibilities to meet public health requirements.

    Foodborne Illness and Contamination

    Common food-borne pathogens, modes of transmission, and the symptoms and risk factors associated with illness outbreaks, with emphasis on prevention strategies.

    Biological, physical, and chemical hazards in food contamination, including how contamination may occur throughout the food preparation process and effective prevention methods for each category.

    Foundational knowledge on microorganisms and the conditions that promote microbial growth.

    Food Safety Management Systems

    Standard operating procedures (SOPs), hazard analysis and critical control point (HACCP) systems, the importance of regular inspections, and record-keeping practices.

    Safe temperatures and correct procedures for cooling, reheating, and holding potentially hazardous foods to prevent bacterial growth.
